North Central Telephone Data Center

The North Central Telephone Cooperative Data Center is a new 3,500 s.f. Tier I Central Office/Data Center building housing FTTH network equipment to facilitate an ARRA funded stimulus project including construction of over 1,000 miles of fiber delivering service to families, community organizations and businesses in the surrounding areas of Lafayette, Tennessee. Located in the historic district of downtown Lafayette, the facility supports 56 racks and includes a Network Operations Center, Conference Room and ancillary support functions. The building was designed and situated on the site to accommodate future expansion of data center space to the west and support functions to the east. The mechanical system was designed as N+1 with computer room air conditioning units, hot/cold aisle containment and overhead ducted supply. Schedule was critical due to the timeline dictated by the stimulus funds. We designed the project using precast panels in order to help accelerate the construction. With our expertise and background in the structural precast industry, we were able to design, engineer and provide the precast fabrication drawings directly to the manufacturer, which saved 6-8 weeks during construction.
